My upline, Julie Gunhus (who is a remarkable upline and an even better friend!) holds fabulous meetings for her group of demonstrators. At her recent Spring Fling event, I put together a booth showcasing Stampin' Up!'s Simply Adorned jewelry products. Just about everyone who sees these charms and accessories in real life is immediately impressed with the quality. They are truly beautiful - and what better way to show off your creative efforts than to wear it as a wardrobe accessory!
There are 5 locket-style charms: The largest is 1-1/2" x 2", the medium charm (my favorite) is 1-1/4" x 1", and the small charm is 1" x 1". These 3 charms are designed to be necklace pieces, though they would also look great as an ornament or on a key ring. The last 2 charms are 5/8" bracelet charms: a circle and a square.
The 3 larger charms have beveled glass on the front side. They have lobster clasps that are very sturdy. All of the charms as well as the chains are nickel-plated stainless steel.
Here are some of my creations starting with the largest charm:
The really KEWL thing about making these inserts is that you can dig into your scraps of designer paper and even "rejected" projects to find bits and pieces that can become terrific art! Easy peasy! With the beveled glass on the front, you can add a little bling if you'd like. The pink rhinestone is taken out of one of the Circle Fire Rhinestone Brads (just pry it out of the setting!).
I like the medium size charm the most. Here is the front and back of my favorite insert:
. . . plus some additional inserts:
The smallest necklace charm is only 1" x 1". That's a really tiny piece to work with! How cute would this be with baby's first photo and a little lock of hair? A great gift for a new mom. Here are some other ideas:
Last but not least are samples for the little 5/8" square and round bracelet charms. I made most of these to coordinate with the necklace charms. These little gems are not only adorable on a bracelet, but they are just as cute added to the necklace! The images are actually only 1/2", so perfect circles are a snap if you use the 1/2" Circle Punch.
